Position Overview

Exploring the great outdoors and connecting campers with nature are just a few of the many rewarding aspects of working at Gould Lake. Exciting opportunities await educators who are passionate about the outdoors and are interested in leading wilderness trips this summer with students in grades 7-12. Gould Lake Outdoor Centre runs credit-based courses over 8-16 days, based on course requirements, where students have the opportunity to participate in canoe and kayak trips in our unique outdoor classroom.

Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Outdoor experience
  • Lifeguarding certification, an asset
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Willingness to learn, including seeking and applying feedback
  • Demonstrated initiative with ability to problem solve in a professional and respectful manner
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills, including ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Willingness to complete requisite certifications, as identified through the application process
