$22.00 per hour (+ vacation pay in lieu) / up to 35 hrs a week Group 1 - start date on or around March 30 to June 12th:  Mandatory Training - Week of March 23 - March 27th (dates TBD) Group 2 - start date on or around May 6th to June 12th:  Mandatory Training – May 4 th & 5 th

Position Overview

Spring Math & Literacy Tutors will provide EQAO support and gap closing instruction to students in grades 3 & 6. Within a structured school day, Tutors will provide direct instruction to individual students and small groups focusing on numeracy and/or literacy skills.

  • Attend all training sessions
  • Plan and lead 1:1 or small group math and/or literacy instruction
  • Monitor student progress and share with classroom teachers and school administrators
Duties and responsibilities

We are looking for applicants who:

  • are learners who seek and apply feedback to improve their practice
  • show initiative 
  • are currently enrolled in post-secondary studies and are considering an education-related career
  • are interested in, or have experience working with students in small groups in math and/or literacy
  • can provide their own transportation to the assigned school (mileage not covered by LDSB)
Please note that schools may not be on bus routes
  • have a current CPIC with vulnerable sector check (or can obtain one prior to employment)
